Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Diaz! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Batista to the mat! Batista manages to get full guard. Batista had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diaz defends it easily. Batista is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Batista seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Batista throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Batista perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Batista trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom. Batista is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Batista is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Diaz sees it coming and defends easily. Diaz is staying active underneath Batista, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Well, if Batista is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Batista not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Batista wants to take a breather but Diaz is having none of it. Batista slows the pace down in half guard.

Batista wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Batista is really struggling to control Diaz but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Diaz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Batista checks a leg kick. Diaz throws a big shot that misses. A combination from Batista does no damage. Batista fails with a takedown attempt. Batista is breathing heavily. Diaz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Diaz misses with a double jab
and Batista counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A combination from Batista does no damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Diaz misses with a few strikes there.

It looks like Jose Batista has been cut. Diaz shoots for a takedown but Batista saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jose Batista will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jose Batista's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Diaz misses with a takedown and Batista moves into the clinch. Batista looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Batista manages to break the clinch.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Batista avoids them all with ease. Batista has his takedown stuffed and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Batista connects with a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Diaz throws a series of punches but Batista avoids them all with ease. Diaz gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A jab from Batista finds it's way through Diaz's defenses. Batista throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Batista slaps away a takedown attempt from Diaz, before circling back to the center of the mat. Batista lands a nice looking body shot.
Batista is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diaz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Diaz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Some wild striking there from Batista.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Batista is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Batista in particular looking to stall.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Diaz scores with a punch to the head. Batista keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Diaz shoots in but Batista avoids the takedown attempt easily. Batista moves into the clinch. Diaz wants a takedown.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Batista takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Batista lands a body punch. Diaz tries to circle away but Batista has him pinned against the cage. Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Batista walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Diaz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Batista swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Batista finds it's way through Diaz's defenses. Diaz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Batista shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diaz pinned against the cage. Diaz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Batista misses with a double jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Diaz. Batista moves into the clinch. Diaz wants a takedown but no success here.
Batista has had enough of the clinch but Diaz keeps him there for the moment. Diaz fails to pull guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Diaz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Diaz fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Batista is out of range. Jose Batista is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Batista scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nick Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Diaz wants to improve his position but Batista is controlling well.
Batista slows the pace down in half guard. Diaz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Diaz makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! A left and a right from Batista both land. Nice combination.
And that's the end of the fight! Jose Batista showed his dominance in that final round. Well Batista has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
