Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akihiro Ono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and will tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ono comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Ain't No Sunshine. The crowd seem to be enjoying tan's choice of entrance music: tubthumping. Akihiro Ono has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akihiro Ono! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, will tan! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ono swats away the attempt to clinch by tan. Ono looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ono displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from tan. tan stuffs the takedown. tan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ono is trying to defend but tan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Ono regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from tan. tan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. tan passes Ono's left leg - he's now in half guard. tan drops an elbow to the side of Ono's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ono throwing strikes but missing. tan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ono preventing the sweep. tan trying to control the position here. tan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. tan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. tan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ono looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. tan looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. tan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ono to see if he's OK. Ono is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Ono tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but tan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. tan working the head and body with strikes. Ono is not content to let tan control the position.

There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. tan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. tan scores with punches from side control. tan scores with a couple of short elbows. tan decides to stand back up. tan steps back and let's Ono get back to his feet. Ono throws a nice inside leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ono thumps tan with a low kick. Ono misses with a takedown and tan counters with a single leg into guard. Ono didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akihiro Ono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of will tan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by tan or perhaps it was just good defense by Ono which made him look bad. Akihiro Ono is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. tan is breathing heavily. Ono tries to bum rush tan with a series of wild strikes but tan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A chopping leg kick lands by Ono. tan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ono tries to avoid it but tan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ono to the ground. Ono escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ono stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ono throws a right hand that tan ducks under and follows up with a left that tan also avoids with ease. tan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The crowd cheers as Ono lands an impressive looking overhand right. tan doesn't seem phased though. Ono throws a nice outside leg kick. tan ducks right into an uppercut from Ono. Ono throws a one two combo.
It looks like will tan has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Ono doesn't manage to clinch there - tan circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ono is looking to clinch. Ono stuffs the takedown attempt from tan. tan gets slowly back to his feet. Ono misses with a few strikes there.
tan tries to clinch up. Ono fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt tan. Ono closes the distance and lands a one-two.
tan is rocked! Ono rushes tan and presses him up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ono's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. tan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ono counters with an inside leg kick. Ono stalks tan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into tan's face. tan staggers backwards, shaken. tan throws a leg kick that is checked and Ono counters by moving into the clinch. Ono lands an elbow that stopped tan in his tracks for a moment. Ono's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ono throws a combination that misses and tan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ono is defending against the submission attempts here by tan.
tan prevents Ono from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akihiro Ono dominated that second round. The cut man is working on will tan's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

tan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ono counters with a left and a right that stings tan. Ono moves in looking to clinch but tan pushes him off. Ono misses with a straight right. tan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

tan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ono manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Ono keeping moving, preventing tan from controlling successfully. tan advances position into side control! tan lands an elbow. tan scores with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. tan scoring with punches and elbows. tan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. tan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ono is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ono throws a combination but it was largely blocked by tan. Ono swinging wilding here.

Akihiro Ono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of will tan. tan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ono has managed to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Akihiro Ono. I think Ono has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
