Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daigoro Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daigoro Aoki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Aoki works over Mir's head and body with a nice combination.
Mir tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mir fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aoki manages to avoid it.
Aoki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mir throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mir takes the fight into the clinch.
Mir lands a hook that snaps the head of Aoki backwards.
Mir is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Aoki is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Aoki drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mir pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aoki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mir manages to avoid it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aoki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mir to the mat! Mir manages to get full guard.
Mir wants to stand and escape but Aoki is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mir wants to get back to his feet but Aoki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Aoki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Mir lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Aoki is trying to drag Mir to the mat but Mir just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Frank Mir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daigoro Aoki.

Aoki is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mir throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Aoki blocks it with crossed arms.
Aoki drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mir pulls his leg out and moves away.

Aoki fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mir checks it well.
