PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Cartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dallas Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Cartman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dallas Davis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis throws a hook to the side of Cartman's head but Cartman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Cartman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cartman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davis.
A telegraphed right hand from Davis misses the target.
Davis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cartman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cartman looks to land a combination but Davis avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cartman throws a combination that misses
and Davis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cartman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Davis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Davis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Davis avoids a kick to the body.
Davis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cartman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davis as he avoids it easily.
Davis throws a nice looking combination but Cartman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A big left from Davis misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Davis throws a jab but it's blocked by Cartman.
Cartman ducks under a wild hook from Davis.
Davis throws a hook but Cartman blocks it.

Cartman rushes Davis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cartman gets underhooks to prevent Davis's takedown attempt.

Davis breaks the clinch.
Cartman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Dallas Davis has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cartman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. Cartman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Davis throws out the jab.
Cartman drops his hands momentarily and Davis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cartman wants to clinch up but Davis keeps it at a distance.
Cartman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Davis misses the target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cartman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Good standup being displayed there by Cartman as he connects with a hook.
Cartman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Davis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Davis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Cartman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Davis counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dallas Davis dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dallas Davis's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cartman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cartman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Cartman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis misses with some punches.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cartman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Davis scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Cartman misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A big right from Davis misses.
Cartman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Davis throws a hook but Cartman blocks it.
Cartman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Davis counters with a right hand to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davis misses with a combination

and Cartman counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Cartman wants to get back to striking at distance but Davis won't allow it.
Davis tries to break the clinch but Cartman is controlling the position.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Davis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cartman.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Davis attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Davis misses with a hook. Cartman ducked under it nicely.
Davis loads up on a big right hand but Cartman slips the punch.
Cartman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cartman slips under a jab.
Davis moves into range and connects with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cartman throws a series of strikes that have Davis backpedaling.
Eric Cartman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Davis misses with a hook. Cartman ducked under it nicely.
Dallas Davis seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Davis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cartman.
Davis throws a hook but Cartman blocks it.
Cartman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cartman loads up on a big right hand but Davis slips the punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dallas Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Davis throws a right and a left that Cartman avoids nicely.
Davis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Davis loads up on a big right hand but Cartman slips the punch.
Davis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cartman lands a left and a right that send Davis crashing to the mat, dazed. Cartman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Cartman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Davis thinking.
Davis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cartman lands with a big right hook that stumbles Davis - he's out on his feet here! Cartman follows up with another monster hook that separates Davis from consciousness! Davis falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Cartman stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Eric Cartman!
