The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from McConell misses the target.

McConell fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Souza checks it well.

McConell lands with a hook. Souza tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McConell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Souza on the side of the head.

That has opened up Augusto Souza's cut even more.
McConell jabs Souza right on the nose. Souza blinks but takes it well.
Souza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McConell sprawls well. McConell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.
