Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia comes into the arena with I Get Knocked Down blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia throws out a loose jab but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Maia shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Maia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Maia wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diaz, who protects the arm well.

Maia throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Maia is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Diaz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Maia gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Diaz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Maia lets go of the hold and Diaz can pop his arm back in it's socket.
