Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crank Lam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake's entrance music is Beamer, Benz, or Bentley by Lloyd Banks. A fine choice. Crank Lam has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gavin Drake's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gavin Drake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crank Lam! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lam has a takedown stuffed. Crank Lam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drake stuffs the takedown attempt from Lam. Lam gets slowly back to his feet. Drake clinches up with Lam and pushes him back against the cage. Drake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lam takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Lam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lam looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Drake is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lam swings around for an armbar but Drake sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lam's guard. Drake works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drake is keen to just control but Lam is a slippery customer. Drake wants to free his trapped foot but Lam is holding on for dear life with his legs. Drake wants to work for an arm triangle but Lam is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Drake wants to take a breather but Lam is having none of it. Drake looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lam gets full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Drake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lam swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lam takes a kick to the side of the head. Lam gets caught flat footed, as Drake shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Lam keeping moving, preventing Drake from controlling successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lam can do anything to dispel that myth. Drake is breathing heavily. Drake looking to sit in guard and control but Lam gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lam sitting in guard, not really doing much. Lam trying to control the position from guard on top but Drake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lam throws a big right hand that misses. Lam content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Drake working a defensive guard but Lam passes into half guard.
Lam is pressing down on Drake's thigh, looking to free his foot. Drake is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Drake is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lam pulls his head out easily. Lam throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Lam is figuring out what he wants to do next. Lam not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lam is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Lam content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Crank Lam will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Lam misses with a takedown attempt and Drake counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lam wants to get back to full guard. Lam has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Drake is working away from the top position though. Drake is trying to work for a kimura but Lam is defending well.
Lam tries to get to full guard but Drake has control of the leg. Drake is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lam doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Drake. Drake is looking to pass Lam's guard but actually Lam recovers to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drake drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lam dives on top into guard. Drake throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lam must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lam is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lam loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lam lands a couple of digs. Lam throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lam controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lam chips away with some ground and pound. Drake is trying to hold Lam in close to prevent damage but Lam has managed to pass into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Drake is not content to let Lam control the position. Drake wants to control but Lam is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lam is looking for a kimura but Drake is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lam to get the leverage. Nice strikes from Lam there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lam is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lam is trying to control. Drake wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lam content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Drake is refusing to be controlled, as Lam sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Crank Lam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Lam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Drake counters with a single leg into guard. Lam didn't expect that. Crank Lam has got the better of the ground game so far. Lam is looking for a triangle but Drake pushes his legs off easily.
Drake drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Drake seems to have locked his on tight now - Lam screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Drake, as he picks up the win!
