Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damien Brisebois! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Pierre! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brisebois looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Pierre throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Pierre working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Brisebois has passed into half guard!
Brisebois controlling the action here. Pierre is looking to improve his position.
Brisebois gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Pierre with a poor takedown and Brisebois counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Brisebois shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pierre is trying to defend but Brisebois finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pierre looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Brisebois is figuring out what he wants to do next. Brisebois stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pierre to get to his feet. Pierre gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pierre trying to control the position.
Pierre manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brisebois manages to get himself to full guard.

Brisebois fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pierre avoids it really well and circles away. Brisebois tries to clinch up but Pierre circles away and keeps his distance. Brisebois slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Brisebois closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Brisebois is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pierre has managed to free his arm - good work. Brisebois stalling. Pierre is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brisebois's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brisebois's back! Brisebois is in bad spot here.
Pierre tries to get the hooks in deep but Brisebois pushed the leg off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierre not allowing Brisebois to control his hands. Pierre somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Pierre thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Brisebois breaks Pierre's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brisebois tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pierre paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pierre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Brisebois closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pierre did well to prevent Brisebois getting side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damien Brisebois dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Brisebois tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Brisebois scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Pierre tries to get to full guard but Brisebois has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Brisebois takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pierre is staying active underneath Brisebois, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Brisebois is figuring out what he wants to do next. Brisebois tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pierre knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Pierre is breathing heavily. Pierre is refusing to be controlled, as Brisebois sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brisebois keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Pierre is trying to stand up here but Brisebois is controlling him well. Brisebois uses his free foot to push down on Pierre's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pierre. Damien Brisebois overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brisebois controlling his opponent. Brisebois working the ground and pound effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Brisebois sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. A nice elbow there by Brisebois. Brisebois controlling his opponent. Brisebois landing punches. Brisebois lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Brisebois takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brisebois is landing with some decent strikes but Pierre is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Brisebois can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pierre is looking to escape. Brisebois fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Pierre is looking to get to half guard. Pierre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Brisebois looking to control and managing it successfully. Brisebois postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pierre looks a forlorn figure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brisebois wants to control the pace but Pierre is squirming around nicely.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Damien Brisebois just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Brisebois rushes Pierre and presses him up against the cage. Pierre looking to stall.

Damien Brisebois dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Pierre gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brisebois counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pierre! Pierre is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Brisebois working away from the top, dropping strikes. Brisebois wants to control the pace but Pierre is squirming around nicely.

Brisebois is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pierre pulls his head out easily. Brisebois is looking to control Pierre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brisebois avoid being mounted? Brisebois manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brisebois stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pierre throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Damien Brisebois is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brisebois gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Brisebois gets in close and instigates a clinch. Brisebois prevents a takedown attempt there.
Georges Pierre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brisebois jumps guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Damien Brisebois showed his dominance in that final round. Well Brisebois has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
