Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Yves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yves's half guard. Yves moves into full guard.
Shields tries to free his leg and advance position but Yves is retaining full guard. Shields postures up in Yves's guard and throws a big left but Yves blocks it. Shields wants to control from the top but Yves keeps moving. Yves not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shields. Shields stopping the sweep attempt from Yves. Shields stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Some wild striking there from Shields.
Yves misses with a takedown attempt and Shields counters with a takedown into side control. Shields decides to stand back up. Shields misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shields moves into range and clinches up with Yves. Shields gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Yves.

Shields's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shields gets the takedown into side control. Shields is breathing heavily. Yves tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shields wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Shields is looking to take a break and control but Yves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shields stands up and we're back to a striking position. Scott Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shields tries to close the distance and clinch but Yves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shields fails to land with a series of punches.
Yves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shields controls Yves momentarily but Yves frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yves has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Shields is proving hard to escape from. Yves in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Yves throws a big right hand that misses. Shields trying to control the position.
Yves is working Shields over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Yves slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Shields keeping moving, preventing Yves from controlling successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Shields tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yves paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Shields dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Yves shoots and misses and Shields counters by moving into the clinch. Yves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shields just stands there and leans against the cage. Shields pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Yves closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yves lands in his opponent's guard. Yves trying to control but Shields is working from the bottom. Yves postures up.
Yves scoring with some ground and pound. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shields working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Yves keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shields's head. Yves trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Yves postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Yves must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Shields gets caught flat footed, as Yves shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shields throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Yves is looking to work some ground and pound but Shields has wrist control. Shields manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Shields shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yves is trying to defend but Shields finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Yves is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yves is trying to maintain the position but Shields is very close to passing his half guard. Shields thows a huge punch but Yves dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Yves is controlling Shields's posture. Scott Shields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shields trying to control but Yves is working from the bottom. Shields landing some decent shots from guard. Yves can't keep his opponent in guard - Shields advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Shields moves nicely into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Yves is trying to get back to half guard. Yves is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Shields is trying to get an arm triangle but Yves is defending well. Shields tries to advance to mount but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bob Yves will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Yves shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shields napping and manages to drive through into side control! Shields throws Yves to one side and escapes! Scott Shields is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Yves drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yves throws an elbow but Shields slips to the side and avoids it well. Shields manages to work his way to half guard, despite Yves's best efforts. Yves not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Yves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shields. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shields slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Shields avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yves thows a big elbow that misses.

Shields is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Yves seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Shields has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yves tries to buck Shields off but Shields is having none of it. Shields misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Yves gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yves can do anything to dispel that myth. Shields lands a big shot there that rocks Yves but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Shields takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Yves working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shields landing strikes from the mount. Yves tries to hold on but Shields postures up. Shields tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Yves holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Shields tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Yves keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Shields looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Shields cracks Yves with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Shields with good strikes from the mount here! Shields lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Bob Yves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Yves has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
