Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Watcha say-Jason Derulo. Philip Gray has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mark Kyle's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Kyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kyle looks to land a body kick but Gray moved away. Kyle tries to clinch there but Gray circles away.
Gray closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gray lands in his opponent's guard. Kyle is trying to keep Gray in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gray accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gray pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kyle is keeping the position for now. Gray throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kyle works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gray missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kyle can't keep his opponent in guard - Gray advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gray sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kyle defending well though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gray thows a huge punch but Kyle dodges it nicely.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gray shoots in and bounces Kyle off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gray content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gray with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gray stays in close to Kyle's body and controls the position. Let's hope that Gray has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Gray throws a strike but Kyle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kyle trying to control but Gray is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray is adopting a defensive guard. Kyle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gray has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kyle has managed to get both his arms back between Gray's legs - danger averted. Gray is controlling Kyle's posture. Kyle sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gray wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gray throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gray scrambles and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle is looking to clinch but Gray is avoiding it.
Gray looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kyle is fending him off so far but Gray persists. Nope, Kyle circles away and we're back to standing. Kyle tries to clinch but Gray moves out of range. Gray looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kyle! Gray unloads with some shots from mount but Kyle bucks and avoids them well.
Gray moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kyle has worked his arm free - good work by Kyle!
Kyle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gray off and has taken his back! Gray is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gray is trying to shake Kyle off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Kyle won't be happy about giving up the dominant position. Gray shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kyle as he avoids it easily. Gray looks for a takedown but Kyle sprawls well. Mark Kyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Gray. Gray shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kyle as he avoids it easily. Kyle moves into range and clinches up with Gray. Kyle landing knees to the head.
It looks like Philip Gray has been cut. Kyle tries to land a knee to the head but Gray blocks with his arms.
Kyle gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Nice elbow from Kyle. Kyle lands a knee to the head.

Kyle throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gray blocks it with crossed arms. Kyle connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gray's face.
Kyle has Gray pressed against the cage, preventing Gray from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kyle with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Kyle with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Gray lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kyle is not content to let Gray control the position. Still in half guard, Gray seems content to control. Gray throws a strike but Kyle avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kyle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gray. Gray trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gray trying to control the position from guard on top but Kyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kyle is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Kyle lands an elbow just above Gray 's eye. Gray goes for a takedown attempt but Kyle pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gray tries to keep at a distance but Kyle has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kyle creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Gray's defenses. Kyle throws a knee to the head but misses.

Gray has clasped his hands together around Kyle's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Kyle manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gray's best efforts. Gray stalling away here and it's allowed Kyle to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Gray trying to control the position from guard on top but Kyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gray is looking to work some ground and pound but Kyle has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Kyle will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Philip Gray's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Philip Gray has got the better of the ground game so far. Gray throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Gray throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Kyle is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gray throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kyle because Gray loaded up on that one. Kyle wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Gray takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kyle blocking the ground and pound. Poor strikes thrown by Gray there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Gray cracks Kyle with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kyle manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Kyle, under a barage of strikes from Gray.
Gray throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kyle won't allow Gray to pass to mount. Kyle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gray with the ground and pound but Kyle uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray stops Kyle from standing up. Gray trying to control but Kyle is working from the bottom. Gray must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gray shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gray showed some decent athleticism there. Kyle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gray thows a huge punch but Kyle dodges it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight! Philip Gray comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gray has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
