Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Saigo Kogihiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tixarian Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Tixarian Pain will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saigo Kogihiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tixarian Pain! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kogihiro scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kogihiro stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Kogihiro uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pain. Pain lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pain. A telegraphed right hand from Pain misses the target. Kogihiro shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kogihiro showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kogihiro stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pain to get to his feet. Pain looks gassed! Kogihiro rushes Pain and presses him up against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Pain throws an elbow but misses. Kogihiro tightens his grip and picks Pain up, before dumping him to the ground. Pain manages to land in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kogihiro is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kogihiro has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kogihiro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kogihiro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kogihiro's corner is telling him to maintain position. Pain wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kogihiro manages to pass to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kogihiro trying to control the pace. Pain is looking to escape. Still in half guard, Kogihiro seems content to control.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Saigo Kogihiro just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Pain misses with a two punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Pain. No joy for Kogihiro on that attempt. Pain dips to his left and cracks Kogihiro with an uppercut! Pain scores with a three punch combo!

Pain throws an elbow that misses.
Pain lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Kogihiro manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Pain wants to control from the top but Kogihiro keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pain wants to get up but he can't break Kogihiro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kogihiro is pulling down on Pain's head. It's preventing any offense from Pain, at least for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kogihiro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pain manages to get himself to full guard.
Kogihiro stands up from Pain's guard - Kogihiro perhaps looking for a knockout. Pain throws a nice looking combination but Kogihiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pain misses with a wild combination.
Kogihiro is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saigo Kogihiro dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pain misses with a wild combination.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kogihiro. Kogihiro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pain was covering up waiting for the punch and Kogihiro finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kogihiro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kogihiro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kogihiro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Pain keeping moving, preventing Kogihiro from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kogihiro won't allow Pain to get back to his feet. Kogihiro throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kogihiro wants to control from the top but Pain keeps moving. Pain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kogihiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pain lands a jab to the nose. Pain throws a right and a left that Kogihiro avoids nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kogihiro shoots in for a takedown but Pain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kogihiro tries to clinch up. Pain throws a nice looking combination but Kogihiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Pain lands a two punch combo.
Pain scores with a nice strike. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kogihiro is defended easily by Pain. Pain bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kogihiro's head. Pain throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pain lands a lovely overhand right. Pain cracks Kogihiro with a right hand to the side of the head. Pain throws a nice looking combination but Kogihiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kogihiro gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pain working aggressively here.

Pain stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saigo Kogihiro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pain throws a right and a left that Kogihiro avoids nicely. Pain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kogihiro is adopting a defensive guard. Kogihiro pushes Pain off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Saigo Kogihiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pain throws a big shot that misses. Pain misses with a double jab.
Pain lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kogihiro moves away from the strike by Pain. Kogihiro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pain scores with a punch to the head. Kogihiro moves into range and clinches up with Pain. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saigo Kogihiro dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pain bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kogihiro's head. Kogihiro is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pain's half guard. Kogihiro is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Pain defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kogihiro. Kogihiro tries to control but Pain wriggling away. Kogihiro stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kogihiro shoots in and drives through. Pain sprawls well. Pain swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kogihiro. Pain lands with a cross. Danga de danga de dang - Pain scores with a four punch combination! Pain throws a nice looking combination but Kogihiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kogihiro walks into a jab. Kogihiro throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Pain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kogihiro is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pain's half guard. Saigo Kogihiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kogihiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kogihiro is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Kogihiro landing strikes, looking to finish! Kogihiro is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Pain is in real trouble.

Pain is trying to stand back up. Pain defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kogihiro's arms. Pain looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pain is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Kogihiro controls the position. Kogihiro missing with strikes from the back. Kogihiro misses with an elbow to the head. Pain has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Tixarian Pain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Saigo Kogihiro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kogihiro controls the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Saigo Kogihiro showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kogihiro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
