Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Del Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pursuit of Happiness. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Del Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans scores with a shot to the body.
Del Soto swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.
Del Soto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Evans circles away.
Del Soto shoots for a takedown but Evans saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Evans as Del Soto shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Del Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Del Soto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Evans really wants to buck Del Soto off and get back to his feet.
Evans tries to hold on but Del Soto pushes him away.
Evans reaches up to try and control the position but Del Soto seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Evans rolls and tries to escape and now Del Soto has his back!
Del Soto gets his hands free as Evans looks to control.
Evans holding both Del Soto 's hands and preventing any damage.
Evans trying to control the action but Del Soto just sinks the hooks in.
Del Soto is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Del Soto gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Del Soto gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Del Soto apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Evans darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Del Soto tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Del Soto manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans won't allow Del Soto to sweep him here.
Evans loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Del Soto is pulling down on Evans's head. It's preventing any offense from Evans, at least for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Evans with a flurry of punches that miss.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Del Soto holds on and takes a little breather.
Del Soto keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Del Soto is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Evans decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Evans looks gassed!
Del Soto shoots and misses
and Evans counters with a stiff right hand.
Miguel Del Soto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Del Soto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Evans decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Del Soto's guard.
Evans postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Del Soto keeping full guard, as Evans tries to pass.

Del Soto has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Evans should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Del Soto has tightened it up now! Evans should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
