Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Baby Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. target=blank>tunak tunak tun kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Baby Angel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Connor Gordon! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gordon swats away the attempt to clinch by Angel. Angel leaves Gordon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Angel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gordon moves away. Angel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Angel wants it to stay on the feet. Gordon keeps the fight on the outside. Angel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Angel sizes up Gordon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Angel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gordon won't allow Angel to sweep him here. Angel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gordon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Angel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Angel is trying to control the position but Gordon postures up. Gordon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gordon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gordon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Angel, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gordon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gordon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Angel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gordon looks gassed! Gordon working away. Gordon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Angel is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gordon controlling from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angel scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Angel scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Angel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A left and a right from Angel both land. Nice combination. Angel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Left hook, right uppercut from Angel. Angel just misses with a punch to the body.
Gordon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Angel fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Angel misses. Angel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gordon in his tracks. Angel swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gordon. Angel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Angel moves into range and connects with a jab. Gordon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Angel. Gordon shoots in for a double leg but Angel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Angel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gordon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Angel's guard. Gordon looking to sit in guard and control but Angel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gordon wants to sweep here but Angel controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Angel trying to control but Gordon is working from the bottom. Gordon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Angel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gordon is breathing heavily. Angel throws a big right hand that misses. Angel being controlled here momentarily. Angel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Angel tries to free his leg and advance position but Gordon is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Angel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gordon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Angel defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gordon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Angel looking to pass the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Angel misses with a combination
and Gordon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Angel! Angel is working to get back to half guard.
Angel slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Gordon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Angel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gordon. Angel won't allow Gordon to pass to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gordon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Angel keeps working. Angel is pressing down on Gordon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gordon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Baby Angel will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Baby Angel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Angel stalks Gordon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gordon's face. Gordon staggers backwards, shaken. Angel looks to clinch and Gordon counters with a shoot takedown. Angel fights it but they end up in guard. Gordon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gordon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gordon throws a strike but Angel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gordon trying to keep a closed guard but Angel is proving a slippery customer.
Angel wants to control from the top but Gordon keeps moving. Gordon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gordon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Angel throwing strikes from guard but Gordon blocks nicely. Angel postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Angel works over Gordon's head and body with a nice combination. Baby Angel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Angel rushes Gordon and presses him up against the cage. Gordon has Angel pressed against the cage, preventing Angel from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Angel throws a head punch that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gordon has hold of one of Angel's legs. Angel is fighting the takedown attempt but Gordon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Angel is trying to keep Gordon in close.
Gordon is looking to work some ground and pound but Angel has wrist control. Gordon looking to pass the guard. Angel controls Gordon momentarily but Gordon frees himself. Gordon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Angel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Angel working a defensive guard here.
Connor Gordon has got the better of the ground game so far. Angel keeping moving, preventing Gordon from controlling successfully.

Angel tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Gordon counters with a single leg into guard. Angel didn't expect that. Gordon looking to pass the guard. Angel is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gordon trying to control but Angel is working from the bottom. Angel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gordon is pushing down on Angel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Angel is fighting to maintain full guard but Gordon has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that's the end of the fight! Connor Gordon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gordon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
