Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Vasiliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasiliev's entrance music is Hate me now. A fine choice. Oleg Vasiliev could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Wilson Silva's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oleg Vasiliev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilson Silva! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vasiliev is defended easily by Silva. Vasiliev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely. The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silva. Wilson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva tries to clinch but Vasiliev is having none of it. Silva fails in his attempt to clinch. Vasiliev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Vasiliev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasiliev swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Silva tries to clinch there but Vasiliev circles away.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Vasiliev. Silva is looking to get back to his feet here but Vasiliev is keeping cool and he's managed to take Silva's back. Vasiliev working for a choke but Silva is defending well. Silva is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is trying to stand back up. Silva defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Silva showing good submission defense here.
Silva has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Vasiliev trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Silva doesn't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Silva has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Vasiliev. Silva defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Vasiliev's arms. Silva controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Vasiliev working for a choke but Silva is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oleg Vasiliev dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Silva throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Vasiliev swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Vasiliev dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Vasiliev's head and hops out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vasiliev moves away. Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Vasiliev circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vasiliev swats him away and circles back towards the center. Silva tries to clinch up. Silva is looking to clinch. Vasiliev avoids the body shot from Silva.
Silva gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Silva wants to stand up but Vasiliev is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva is breathing heavily. Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Vasiliev advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Silva is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is refusing to be controlled, as Vasiliev sits in half guard. Vasiliev is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Silva taking shots to the head. Vasiliev with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Silva defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Vasiliev.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Vasiliev is really struggling to control Silva but he's trying to hold on to the position. Vasiliev sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Vasiliev misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Vasiliev working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Silva turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Vasiliev off and cradles Silva's limp body as Vasiliev celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Oleg Vasiliev!
