Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Ribeiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Kiazakov! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ribeiro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kiazakov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kiazakov clinches up with Ribeiro and pushes him back against the cage. Ribeiro is trying to force a seperation but Kiazakov has the dominant position. Kiazakov manages to pull guard.
Kiazakov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Kiazakov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ribeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kiazakov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kiazakov has his feet on Ribeiro's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Ribeiro tries to clinch but Kiazakov is having none of it. Fernando Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kiazakov stuffs the takedown. Kiazakov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ribeiro is breathing heavily. Kiazakov throws a nice looking combination but Ribeiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kiazakov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kiazakov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ribeiro down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiazakov is staying tight to Ribeiro's torso, preventing him from escaping. Kiazakov working the ground and pound. Kiazakov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ribeiro to his feet. Ribeiro keeps the fight on the outside. Ribeiro wants to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kiazakov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kiazakov with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Kiazakov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kiazakov is pressing down on Ribeiro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ribeiro is holding on for now. Kiazakov performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kiazakov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiazakov content to control rather than advance. Kiazakov is trying to control the action in half guard but Ribeiro is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kiazakov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Kiazakov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ribeiro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kiazakov.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kiazakov stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Kiazakov circles away from the clinch attempt and Kiazakov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ribeiro's guard now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Kiazakov dominated that round. That's time! Ribeiro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ribeiro fails in his attempt to clinch. Kiazakov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kiazakov lands in his opponent's guard. Kiazakov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ribeiro is keeping the position for now. Ribeiro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kiazakov is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ribeiro is looking for a triangle but Kiazakov pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kiazakov. Kiazakov looking to pass the guard. Ribeiro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kiazakov defends well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ribeiro keeping moving, preventing Kiazakov from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kiazakov moves into the clinch. Kiazakov tries to break the clinch but Ribeiro is controlling the position. Kiazakov keeps control of Ribeiro as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kiazakov lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ribeiro. Ribeiro tries to circle away but Kiazakov has him pinned against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Ribeiro is pressed up against the cage. Kiazakov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ribeiro down to the mat. Ribeiro avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kiazakov is looking to slow Ribeiro down with leg kicks. Kiazakov moves into the clinch successfully.
Ribeiro blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Ribeiro is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ribeiro throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kiazakov blocks it with crossed arms. Kiazakov gets control of Ribeiro's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kiazakov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Ribeiro postures up.
Kiazakov wants to sweep here but Ribeiro controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro postures up in Kiazakov's guard and throws a big left but Kiazakov blocks it. Kiazakov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ribeiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kiazakov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ribeiro trying to control but Kiazakov is working from the bottom. Kiazakov looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Kiazakov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Ribeiro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kiazakov feints and as Ribeiro raises his hands in defense, Kiazakov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kiazakov wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving. Kiazakov is looking to stand up but Ribeiro won't let him. Kiazakov wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving. Ribeiro pushes Kiazakov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kiazakov gets a takedown into half guard. Tom Kiazakov has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiazakov trying to control the action but Ribeiro is working from the bottom. Kiazakov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ribeiro is trying to stand back up but Kiazakov is controlling him
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kiazakov working over Ribeiro with some ground and pound. Ribeiro looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Kiazakov winds up and cracks Ribeiro with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ribeiro trying to hold on to Kiazakov's head to control him but Kiazakov postures up.
Kiazakov trying to control from Ribeiro's half guard. Ribeiro has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Kiazakov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ribeiro is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiazakov trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ribeiro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kiazakov gets to his feet. Ribeiro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches. Fernando Ribeiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kiazakov tries to pull guard but Ribeiro won't allow it.
Kiazakov tries to stall but Ribeiro uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kiazakov is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ribeiro prevents a takedown attempt there.
Fernando Ribeiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Kiazakov. Ribeiro lands a knee to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Tom Kiazakov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kiazakov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
