Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Arlowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Finklestein! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finklestein fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Arlowski avoids it really well and circles away. A bone on bone clash there as Finklestein blocks the leg kick.
Finklestein shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Arlowski defends it nicely. Arlowski lands a nice looking body kick. Finklestein takes a kick to the side of the head. Finklestein on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Arlowski throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Finklestein stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Finklestein is trying hard to land a takedown here. Arlowski sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ron Arlowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Finklestein. Finklestein shoots for a takedown but Arlowski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Arlowski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Arlowski wants it to stay on the feet. Finklestein scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Finklestein looks gassed! Arlowski wants to control but Finklestein postures up. What's Arlowski going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Arlowski is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finklestein sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Arlowski is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Finklestein has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Finklestein tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Finklestein has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Finklestein works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. You can see the frustration on Arlowski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Finklestein is looking to take a break and control but Arlowski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Arlowski is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Finklestein is controlling him well. Arlowski wants to control but Finklestein postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Arlowski misses with a few strikes there.
Finklestein takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Finklestein blocks the body kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Arlowski. Ron Arlowski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Arlowski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Finklestein moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Arlowski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Finklestein closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Finklestein lands a few punches from side control. Finklestein in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Arlowski struggling a bit here. Arlowski takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Arlowski is trying to get back to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Arlowski is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Finklestein asserts his dominance and retains side control. Arlowski struggling a bit here. Finklestein scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Arlowski to see if he's OK. Finklestein is working Arlowski over with some ground and pound from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arlowski is rocked! Finklestein lands a strong strike to the head of Arlowski. That's dazed him! Finklestein looking to finish here. Arlowski is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Finklestein lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
