Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Hicky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexey Bykov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicky tries to clinch up.
Bykov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bykov drops back looking for a leg! Hicky is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hicky manages to kick Bykov off! Bykov jumps back into Hicky's guard.
Bykov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hicky is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bykov is controlling him.

Bykov tries to pull guard but Hicky won't allow it.

Bykov pushes Hicky off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Bykov counters with a body kick.

Bykov darts in and clinches Hicky up against the cage.
Bykov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Hicky wants to break free but Bykov has control.
Bykov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Bykov counters by clinching up.

Hicky darts in and clinches Bykov up against the cage.
Bykov jumps guard but Hicky stands there with Bykov around his waist. Bykov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bykov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hicky gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hicky wants to break free but Bykov has control.

Bykov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hicky walks away with a smile on his face. Bykov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hicky swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hicky rushes Bykov and presses him up against the cage.
Hicky breaks the clinch.
Bykov misses with a takedown attempt
and Hicky counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bykov's guard now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hicky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hicky wants to get up but he can't break Bykov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bykov keeping moving, preventing Hicky from controlling successfully.
Hicky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bykov on the ground.
Hicky has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bykov is proving hard to escape from.
Bykov scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bykov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bykov throws a right and a left that both miss.

A close round but Alexey Bykov will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hicky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bykov.
Hicky connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Hicky looks to land a combination but Bykov avoids it well.
Hicky shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bykov but Bykov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hicky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bykov closes the distance and pushes Hicky back into the cage.
Bykov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bykov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Nice takedown defense from Hicky. No joy for Bykov on that attempt.

Hicky tries for a takedown but Bykov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bykov is defended easily by Hicky.

Bykov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hicky throws a nice looking combination but Bykov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bykov stands and steps away. Hicky gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bykov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hicky gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bykov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hicky rolls with it to try and escape but Bykov cranks on the arm and Hicky is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
