4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Smyth! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smyth fails to land the takedown. Smyth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but American avoids it really well and circles away. American shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. American showed some decent athleticism there. Smyth looking for submissions from an awkward position here. American throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. American working over Smyth with some ground and pound. Smyth looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. American trying to pass the guard but Smyth defending well. He's hooked one of American's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take American's back! American defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
