Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between hola ston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Conahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick Conahan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, hola ston!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patrick Conahan!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ston lands a head kick!

ston moves into the clinch.

Conahan manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
ston is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
ston wants to stand but Conahan is controlling his posture from full guard.

ston gets to his feet - Conahan follows without any prompting.
Conahan shoots in looking for a takedown. ston tries to sprawl out of it but Conahan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. ston manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Conahan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. ston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
ston is trying to control Conahan's posture but Conahan avoids it.
ston could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
ston wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

ston wants to get back to his feet but Conahan drags him back down.

Conahan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on ston's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
ston is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Conahan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Conahan controls the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Conahan gets the takedown into side control.
Conahan looks gassed!

Conahan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, ston has escaped the position, nice work there.
Conahan tries to move into full mount but can't pass ston's legs.

Conahan wants to control but ston is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
ston is pushing Conahan's head away, looking to escape. Conahan manages to hold on to the position though.
ston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Conahan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
ston wants to get back to his feet but Conahan drags him back down.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

ston gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Conahan to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Conahan prevents ston from getting back to his feet.
ston trying to keep a closed guard but Conahan is proving a slippery customer.
ston is looking to stand up but Conahan isn't so interested in that idea.

Conahan drops back looking for a leg! ston is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and ston manages to kick Conahan off! Conahan jumps back into ston's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Conahan shoots for a double leg takedown but ston sprawls well. He's pushed Conahan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Conahan counters with a shoot takedown. ston fights it but they end up in guard.
Conahan prevents ston from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Conahan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Conahan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. ston did well to prevent Conahan getting side control.
ston is trying to maintain the position but Conahan is very close to passing his half guard.

ston is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Conahan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Conahan's back!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
ston doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Conahan counters by moving into the clinch.

Conahan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
ston is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Conahan is controlling him.

ston is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Conahan has control of ston's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and ston regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Conahan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as ston is looking to escape.
ston tries to control the position but Conahan now has his back.

I really don't envy ston right now.
