Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiko Teodoro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Teodoro's choice of entrance music: furtive monologue. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teodoro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Teodoro throwing shots but Fernandes is blocking nicely.
Teodoro keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Fernandes gets back to full guard.

Teodoro gets caught flat footed, as Fernandes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Teodoro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fernandes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fernandes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Teodoro to see if he's OK.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Fernandes is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Teodoro's shoulder. That is not cool.
Fernandes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Teodoro keeps working.
Teodoro looks gassed!
Fernandes looks up at the clock and then as Teodoro takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fernandes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fernandes in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Teodoro is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fernandes's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That was a close round but I would say that Luiz Fernandes will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Fernandes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Teodoro pinned against the cage. Teodoro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fernandes rushes Teodoro and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fernandes is pressing down on Teodoro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Teodoro is holding on for now.
Fernandes stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Teodoro to get to his feet.

Fernandes feints and as Teodoro raises his hands in defense, Fernandes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Teodoro is staying active underneath Fernandes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Fernandes wants to free his trapped foot but Teodoro is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fernandes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Fernandes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Teodoro manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Teodoro is looking for a sweep.

Well Fernandes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
