Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Spooner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Atwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Spooner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Atwood! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spooner lands a two punch combo.
Spooner throws a sloppy head kick and Atwood moves out of range easily. Spooner is looking to clinch. Spooner throws a nice head kick!
Spooner lands a front kick. Spooner moves out of range of the strikes. Atwood swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Spooner counters with a leg kick. Spooner connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Atwood swings for the body but Spooner moves out of range.
Atwood swats away the attempt to clinch by Spooner. Spooner doesn't manage to clinch there - Atwood circles away.
Atwood misses with a wild combination.
Atwood looks to land a combination but Spooner avoids it well. Spooner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spooner lands a head shot. Spooner moves into range and clinches up with Atwood. Spooner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Atwood is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atwood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spooner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spooner misses with a head kick.

Spooner closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Spooner wants to pass to mount but Atwood is defending the position. Atwood is not content to let Spooner control the position. Spooner is working for a kimura but Atwood is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Atwood keeping moving, preventing Spooner from controlling successfully. Atwood pulls Spooner in to control the position. Spooner thows a big elbow that misses. Spooner is looking to work some ground and pound but Atwood has wrist control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Spooner ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Atwood with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Spooner to score with a decent uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Atwood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Spooner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Atwood as he jumps to the side. Spooner takes the fight into the clinch. Spooner's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Atwood is trying to force a seperation but Spooner has the dominant position. Atwood trying to stall but Spooner improves his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Spooner jumps guard but Atwood stands there with Spooner around his waist. Spooner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Spooner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Atwood wants to break the clinch but can't.
Atwood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Spooner throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Spooner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Spooner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spooner lands with a kick to the temple. Atwood shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Atwood misses with a wild combination.

Sam Spooner dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Atwood drops his hands momentarily and Spooner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Spooner lands a jab to the head.

Spooner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Atwood fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Atwood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spooner moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Spooner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Atwood misses with the body kick and Spooner counters with a stiff right hand. Spooner wants to clinch up but Atwood keeps it at a distance. Spooner fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Spooner counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Spooner goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Spooner drives through with a takedown into guard. Atwood controls Spooner momentarily but Spooner frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spooner wants to control from the top but Atwood keeps moving. Spooner looking to sit in guard and control but Atwood gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spooner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Atwood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Spooner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Atwood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spooner swivels though and keeps the full guard. Atwood is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Let's hope that Atwood has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Spooner wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Atwood postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Atwood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Spooner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Spooner is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Spooner throws a right and a left that both miss. Atwood throws a big shot that misses. Spooner is looking to clinch but Atwood is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy left from Spooner finds it's target. Spooner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spooner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Spooner is trying to work for a kimura but Atwood is defending well.
Atwood is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Spooner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Spooner's back!

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Atwood avoids the attempt from Spooner to control. Spooner is desperately trying to improve his position but Atwood has a good base and remains in mount. Atwood content just to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ryan Atwood. I think Atwood has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
