1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Marks! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Honeywood or perhaps it was just good defense by Marks which made him look bad. Honeywood shoots in for a double leg but Marks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Honeywood swinging wilding here.

Honeywood is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Marks has just dragged him back down to the mat. Honeywood is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Honeywood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marks is pressing down on Honeywood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Honeywood is holding on for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Honeywood is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Honeywood wriggles free and stands up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pleas Honeywood will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Marks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Marks wants to stand but Honeywood has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Honeywood keeping moving, preventing Marks from controlling successfully.
