Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peppy LaPue!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaPue tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones tries to bum rush LaPue with a series of wild strikes but LaPue uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
LaPue takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Peppy LaPue has been cut.
LaPue throws a solid leg kick but Jones takes the impact on his shin and smiles at LaPue.
Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
LaPue clinches up against the cage.
Jones throws a head punch that misses.
Jones blocks an elbow strike.
Jones lands a hook that snaps the head of LaPue backwards.
LaPue breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
LaPue misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones falls off balance throwing a combination
and LaPue counters with a body kick.
LaPue connects with a looping right hand.
LaPue misses with a double jab
and Jones counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
LaPue using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
LaPue pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
LaPue dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Jones throws a one two combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's one minute gone in the round.
LaPue throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
LaPue tries to clinch but Jones moves away
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
LaPue is rocked!
Jones fakes the body blow, causing LaPue to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! LaPue goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kyle Jones!
