PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kfier Asher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Cervantez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cervantez has chosen Si Senor by Control Machete as his entrance music. Cervantez has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Kfier Asher has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asher fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cervantez, pushing him back against the cage.
Asher changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cervantez fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Asher feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Asher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cervantez has hold of Asher's hands but Asher slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Asher is nestled in close to Cervantez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Well, if Asher is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Asher is pushing down on Cervantez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cervantez is fighting to maintain full guard but Asher has managed to sneak the leg through.
Asher working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Asher seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Asher perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Cervantez is rocked!
Asher working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jesse Cervantez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jesse Cervantez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
