Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rey Polamalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kristofir Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Wright's choice of entrance music: You're Going Down. Kristofir Wright is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polamalu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Polamalu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wright defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Polamalu. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wright is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wright gets back to half guard. Wright looking for submissions off his back. Wright is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Polamalu pulls his head out easily. Polamalu is trying to work for a kimura but Wright is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polamalu tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wright knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Wright gets back to full guard.
Wright looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wright looking for a sweep. Not yet Wright, not yet. Wright looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wright escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Polamalu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wright looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Polamalu is looking to advance position but Wright has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Polamalu regains half guard. Wright looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Polamalu is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wright jumps into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright trying to control the position but Polamalu is working away. Polamalu manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wright's best efforts. Wright works his way into side control. Wright thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Polamalu gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Polamalu sees it coming and defends easily. Wright throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wright throws a strike but Polamalu manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Wright tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rey Polamalu!
