Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JJ Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Goethe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, JJ Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Goethe! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goethe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Steel trying to strike off his back.
Goethe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Steel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Goethe looking to pass the guard. Goethe wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving. Steel keeping full guard, as Goethe tries to pass. Steel keeping moving, preventing Goethe from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goethe is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steel throws a nice looking combination but Goethe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Steel has his takedown stuffed and Goethe counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Steel's guard now. Steel trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Steel tries to land a sweep but no joy. Goethe looking to pass the guard. Goethe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steel wants to stand up but Goethe is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel keeping moving, preventing Goethe from controlling successfully. Goethe is stalling in the full guard. Goethe postures up.
Steel trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Goethe counters by moving into the clinch. Steel wants to stall.
Goethe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goethe circles away from the clinch attempt and Goethe counters by clinching up. Goethe gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like JJ Steel has been cut. Steel can't find room to land a body shot as Goethe controls the action.
Steel tries to circle away but Goethe has him pinned against the cage. Steel jumps guard but Goethe stands there with Steel around his waist. Steel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JJ Steel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Goethe is trying to trip Steel. He has hold of a leg but Steel is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Goethe persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Steel trying to control the position.
Goethe stopping the sweep attempt from Steel. Steel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Goethe is controlling him. Steel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goethe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Goethe wants to pass the guard but Steel is keeping the position. Goethe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Goethe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Goethe looks gassed! Steel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Goethe counters by moving into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry Goethe dominated that round. The cut man is working on JJ Steel's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Goethe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Steel is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Goethe's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Goethe trying to control the action but Steel is working from the bottom. Steel wants to get back to full guard. Goethe wants to free his trapped foot but Steel is holding on for dear life with his legs. Goethe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Steel is just riding it out for now. Goethe eventually gives up the hold. Goethe is breathing heavily. Steel trying to control here.
Steel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel tries to kick Goethe off but Goethe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Steel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Goethe counters with a single leg into guard. Steel didn't expect that. Goethe looking to sit in guard and control but Steel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Steel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Goethe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steel has managed to get both his arms back between Goethe's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel wants to stand but Goethe has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Steel trying to control but Goethe is working from the bottom. Goethe looking for a guillotine here but Steel defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel looking to pass the guard. Goethe has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Steel is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Goethe. Goethe is looking to reverse the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Steel closes the distance looking to clinch and Goethe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Steel!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel tries to lock up and control but Goethe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Goethe punching from mount but Steel doing a good job of avoiding damage. Steel wants to control but Goethe is having none of it. Steel can't escape the position.
Steel is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Goethe wants to control the pace but Steel is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry Goethe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on JJ Steel's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Goethe fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Steel is looking to clinch. Steel shoots for a double leg takedown but Goethe sprawls well. He's pushed Steel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Goethe gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Steel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Who's going to make the next move? Steel is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Goethe off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel gets his hands free as Goethe looks to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Steel tries to keep control of the position but Goethe is staying busy. You can see the frustration on Goethe's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Steel avoiding Goethe 's attempts to control his hands. Goethe covering up well and avoiding damage. A lull in the action here.
Goethe has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Will Steel go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Steel is really struggling to control Goethe but he's trying to hold on to the position. Henry Goethe has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. JJ Steel just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Goethe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Goethe showed some decent athleticism there. Steel works his way to full guard. Good work. Goethe advances to half guard. Goethe stalling away here and it's allowed Steel to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Steel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goethe won't allow Steel to get back to his feet. Goethe stands and steps away. Steel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Goethe looks to land a combination but Steel avoids it well. Steel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Goethe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Steel holds on and takes a little breather. Goethe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Goethe trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. JJ Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Henry Goethe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Goethe preventing the sweep.
And that's the end of the fight! Henry Goethe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Goethe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
