Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorivan Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Nass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jake Nass enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorivan Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Nass!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ribeiro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ribeiro decides to stand back up. Ribeiro steps back and let's Nass get back to his feet.
Ribeiro moves in looking to clinch but Nass pushes him off.
Nice sprawl there from Nass as Ribeiro shoots in.
Nass lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nass avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nass.
Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt.
Nass closes the distance but Ribeiro moves to the side

and Ribeiro holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Nass gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Nass is trying to control the action in half guard but Ribeiro is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Nass is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ribeiro has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ribeiro wants to get back to full guard.

Ribeiro is refusing to be controlled, as Nass sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ribeiro pushes Nass off looking to stand but Nass dives back in and keeps control.

Nass is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ribeiro is not content to let Nass control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ribeiro throws a head kick that misses.

and Nass counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ribeiro's guard now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ribeiro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ribeiro postures up in Nass's guard and throws a big left but Nass blocks it.
Nass pulls Ribeiro in close to his closed guard and prevents Ribeiro from doing any damage or advancing position.

Nass looking for a guillotine here but Ribeiro defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ribeiro is looking to work some ground and pound but Nass has wrist control.
Nass is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ribeiro is controlling him.
Nass keeping moving, preventing Ribeiro from controlling successfully.
Ribeiro stands up over Nass, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Nass is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ribeiro can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ribeiro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nass looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Nass wants to control the pace but Ribeiro is squirming around nicely.
Ribeiro is desperately trying to improve his position but Nass has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Nass showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Despite being in the dominant position, Jake Nass just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

It looks like Jorivan Ribeiro has been cut.
Nass tries to clinch but Ribeiro is having none of it.
Ribeiro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nass.
Nass goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nass shoots in and drives through. Ribeiro sprawls well.

Nass sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Jake Nass is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Nass bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ribeiro's guard.
Jorivan Ribeiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ribeiro is looking for a triangle here but Nass uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Nass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ribeiro sprawls well. Ribeiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nass gets slowly back to his feet.

I've got Nass winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
