Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldonado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldonado has chosen Run This Town as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aldonado shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Holliday's guard.
Holliday has a closed guard, preventing Aldonado from standing up.
Holliday wants to sweep here but Aldonado controlling him for the moment.

Aldonado avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Holliday seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Aldonado for as long as he can get away with.

Holliday seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Holliday is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Holliday passes Aldonado's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mike Holliday is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Holliday lands a nice short elbow.
Holliday looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aldonado with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Holliday moves nicely into side control.
