PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Tarly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone comes to the ring accompanied by The Impossible Dream. Tarly has chosen Burn It To the Ground as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sam Tarly acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Tarly!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a shot from downtown. Tarly moves away and avoids it.
Tarly misses with a straight left.
A punch lands to the side of Tarly 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Sam Tarly has been cut.
Tarly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stone.
Stone is looking to clinch.

Tarly throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stone was covering up waiting for the punch and Tarly finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tarly lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Tarly not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Stone keeping moving, preventing Tarly from controlling successfully.

Tarly is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Tarly trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom.
Tarly throwing strikes from guard but Stone blocks nicely.
Tarly scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Stone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Stone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tarly wants to pass the guard but Stone is keeping the position.
Stone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stone tries to get out of the position.
Stone can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tarly controls the pace.
Tarly stands and throws Stone's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tarly in side control lands a decent elbow.
Tarly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Stone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tarly wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Tarly is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stone tries to kick Tarly off but Tarly keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stone is trying to stand up here but Tarly is controlling him well.

Tarly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tarly lands in his opponent's guard.
Tarly pushes down on Stone's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Tarly thows a huge punch but Stone dodges it nicely.

Stone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Tarly makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tarly postures up in Stone's guard and throws a big left but Stone blocks it.
Tarly trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Tarly cracks Stone with a solid left hand.
Stone utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tarly is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Tarly with a flurry of punches that miss.
Stone is looking to stand up but Tarly isn't so interested in that idea.
Tarly lands a couple of digs.
Tarly is working Stone over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Stone looking for a sweep. Not yet Stone, not yet.
Sam Tarly has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tarly content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tarly slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tarly throws a strike but Stone rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Stone wants to pass the guard but Tarly is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tarly is on top in guard.

Sam Tarly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Tarly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stone but Stone pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stone jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Stone misses with a looping right.
Tarly tries for a takedown but Stone sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stone tries to close the distance and clinch but Tarly swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tarly drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Stone is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tarly asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Stone is looking to reverse the position.
Stone being controlled for a moment.
Tarly working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Stone seems a little lost for a moment, as Tarly dominates the positioning.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tarly is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tarly is putting a hurting on Stone here, landing some big shots from side control.
Tarly throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tarly throws a strike aimed at the side of Stone's head but Stone avoids it well.

Stone is not content to let Tarly control the position.

Stone tries to bench press Tarly off him but Tarly keeps the position.

Tarly throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tarly landing a few strikes.
Sean Stone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sam Tarly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Tarly staying calm.
Let's hope that Tarly has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Stone tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sam Tarly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Tarly winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
