Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dariusz Baziak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thijs De Groot!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baziak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says De Groot as he avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from De Groot is defended easily by Baziak.
Baziak has his takedown stuffed
and De Groot counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Baziak's guard now.
De Groot throwing strikes from guard but Baziak blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as De Groot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
De Groot wants to get up but he can't break Baziak's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Baziak manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. De Groot manages to get himself to full guard.

De Groot is trying to keep Baziak in close.
De Groot is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
De Groot doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Baziak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. De Groot is keeping the position for now.
Baziak wants to control from the top but De Groot keeps moving.
Baziak content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Baziak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
De Groot looking for a guillotine here but Baziak defends easily.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
De Groot has closed the distance and engaged Baziak in a clinch.
Baziak has De Groot pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. De Groot manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

De Groot is trying to break the clinch but Baziak has him pressed against the ropes.
De Groot is working for takedown but Baziak is calmly controlling the position for now.

De Groot wants the takedown. Baziak is fighting it off but De Groot persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Baziak's guard against the ropes.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Baziak is breathing heavily.
De Groot with a flurry of punches that miss.
Baziak is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

De Groot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baziak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Baziak fails with the takedown
and De Groot counters by clinching up.
A quick uppercut on the inside from De Groot.
De Groot breaks the clinch.
De Groot lands with a shot to the body.
De Groot darts in and clinches Baziak up against the ropes.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
De Groot wants to stand but Baziak is controlling the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Groot can do anything to dispel that myth.

Baziak landing with the ground and pound.
Baziak lands a couple of decent looking shots.

De Groot wants to stand and escape but Baziak is having none of it.
Baziak thows a big elbow that misses.
Baziak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Baziak prevents De Groot from getting back to his feet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Baziak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and De Groot counters with a two punch combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Baziak moves out of range as De Groot throws a body kick.
De Groot tries to score a power double leg takedown but Baziak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Groot somewhat.
De Groot leaves Baziak with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Baziak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as De Groot sprawls well. De Groot wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baziak gets slowly back to his feet.

De Groot has picked Baziak up - he's going for a ride! De Groot dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Let's hope that De Groot has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Thijs De Groot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Baziak is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. De Groot can't fight it off and eventually Baziak manages to take the fight to the floor. De Groot looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

De Groot unloads with some shots from mount but Baziak bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Baziak tries to lock up and control but De Groot gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I would just about give that final round to Thijs De Groot.
Well De Groot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
