The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Souza swats away the attempt to clinch by Kickurcuntin.
Kickurcuntin fails with the takedown.
Kickurcuntin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Souza dodges the punch combination from Kickurcuntin.
Kickurcuntin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Vitor Souza has been cut.
Souza takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kickurcuntin tries to clinch up but Souza circles away and keeps his distance.
Souza tries to bum rush Kickurcuntin with a series of wild strikes but Kickurcuntin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Souza is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kickurcuntin is defending well though. Souza let's go of the attempt for now.
Kickurcuntin seems to have recovered his senses.

Kickurcuntin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Souza gets his way!

Souza has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kickurcuntin has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Souza wants to control but Kickurcuntin manages to buck him off and is now in Souza's guard! Nice work there by Kickurcuntin!
Kickurcuntin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Souza has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
