Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nic Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Quall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quall has chosen Beach Blast as his entrance music. James Quall acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nic Bravo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Quall! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quall tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bravo was well out of range. Poor timing from Quall. Quall misses with an uppercut. Bravo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A looping hook to the body misses from Quall. Bravo does a little dance to reset his feet. Bravo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Quall's half guard. Quall is trying to maintain the position but Bravo is very close to passing his half guard. Quall is not content to let Bravo control the position. Bravo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Quall trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bravo working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Quall's thigh. Quall counters though and makes it back to full guard. Quall wants to stand and escape but Bravo is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Quall can do anything to dispel that myth. Bravo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quall swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Quall closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Quall lands a nice uppercut. Bravo misses with an elbow over the top. Quall tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Bravo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Quall can't break the clinch.
Bravo has picked Quall up - he's going for a ride! Bravo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Bravo is trying to control the action in half guard but Quall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Quall wants to get back to his feet. Bravo is thwarting Quall's attempts to control the position. Quall avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bravo. Bravo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bravo working Quall over with strikes. Quall is looking to escape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bravo shoots in but no luck this time. Bravo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Quall swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nic Bravo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quall has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Bravo moves out of range as Quall strikes. Quall misses with a wild combination.
Bravo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Quall. Bravo looks to land a body kick but Quall moved away. Bravo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Bravo is stalling here. Quall is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bravo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Quall has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bravo is looking to reverse the position. Quall wants to stand but Bravo is controlling his arm. Quall is looking to take a break and control but Bravo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Quall working away. Quall stands up. Quall misses with the combination.
Bravo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Nic Bravo has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quall misses with a hook. Bravo ducked under it nicely. Bravo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Quall is trying to defend but Bravo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Quall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bravo is working away from the top position though. Bravo stops Quall from getting back to his feet.
Quall regains full guard. Nicely done. Quall trying to control the position.
Bravo wants to control from the top but Quall keeps moving. Quall wants to sweep but no luck. Quall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nic Bravo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Nic Bravo's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Quall thows a body shot but no joy. No joy there for Quall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nic Bravo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Quall throws a chopping leg kick but Bravo manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Quall ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bravo moves away. Bravo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Quall misses with a double jab
and Bravo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bravo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Quall missing with punches from the bottom.
Bravo is trying to control. Quall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quall is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bravo trying to control from half guard but Quall is working away. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Quall trying to control here.
Bravo is trying to work for a kimura but Quall is defending well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Quall throws a push kick but Bravo slaps the foot to one side. Bravo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Quall throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Quall closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Bravo can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. Quall trying to control the position but instead, Bravo has worked for underhooks and has pushed Quall into the cage. Quall lands a body punch in the clinch. Quall is leaning against Bravo and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Quall is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. A body shot lands from Quall.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Quall lands a knee to the head.
Quall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Quall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
An inside leg kick lands from Quall. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Quall closes the distance looking to clinch and Bravo counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bravo letting Quall take a breather here. Quall lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Bravo looks to throw an elbow but misses. Quall swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Quall leaning his opponent against the cage. Bravo stalling against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Quall lands a body shot. Bravo is trying to maintain a safe position but Quall gets an underhook and turns Bravo into the cage. Bravo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bravo takes a knee to the side of the body. Quall trying to land knees to the body.
Bravo goes for a takedown in the clinch but Quall prevents it.
Quall stalling against the cage.
Quall gets through Bravo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Nice body punch from Quall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bravo jumps guard but Quall stands there with Bravo around his waist. Bravo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nic Bravo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quall tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Quall lands a left hand.
Quall breaks the clinch.
Quall works Bravo's body with a nice hook. Quall drops Bravo with a beautiful combination! Bravo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Quall is looking for the KO! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice uppercut there from Quall.
Nic Bravo's cut is getting worse. Quall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bravo circles away quickly and effectively. Quall tries to clinch up but Bravo circles away and keeps his distance. Quall thuds a left hand into Bravo's body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Quall throws a series of punches but Bravo moves out of range. Quall thows a body shot but no joy. Quall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Quall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Nic Bravo's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Bravo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Quall throws out the jab. Quall moves away from the strike by Bravo. Quall lands a brutal head kick. Bravo looks out on his feet and Quall throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). James Quall!
