Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Osmo Ikola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viking Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikola comes to the cage accompanied by Muistan sua Elaine. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter tries to work over Ikola's front leg with a kick but Ikola checks it.
Ikola misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A combination from Fighter does no damage.
Ikola throws a hook but Fighter avoids it easily.

Fighter is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Ikola turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ikola throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ikola tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ikola somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Osmo Ikola. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ikola has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
