Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aras Szlesz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Lindell! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lindell throws the kick towards the body but Szlesz avoids it. Lindell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Szlesz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Szlesz tries to clinch up but Lindell circles away and keeps his distance. Szlesz looks to clinch and Lindell counters with a nice double leg into guard. Szlesz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lindell defends well. Szlesz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lindell with a nice head shot there. Lindell thows a big elbow that misses. Lindell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Szlesz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Szlesz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lindell defends it well. Szlesz is breathing heavily. Szlesz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lindell moves into full guard.

Szlesz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lindell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Szlesz has Lindell in his guard. Szlesz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lindell is aware though and is defending well. Szlesz keeping moving, preventing Lindell from controlling successfully. Szlesz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lindell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lindell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Szlesz has his foot on Lindell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lindell works his way back into a safe position though. Szlesz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lindell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lindell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Szlesz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lindell defends it easily. Lindell is pushing down on Szlesz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Szlesz is fighting to maintain full guard but Lindell has managed to sneak the leg through. Szlesz is looking to improve his position.
Szlesz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Szlesz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Szlesz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Lindell dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lindell thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Szlesz if he has to take too many more of those.

Lindell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Szlesz is just riding it out for now. Lindell eventually gives up the hold. Lindell is working for a kimura but Szlesz is defending it quite comfortably.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Szlesz throws a series of punches but Lindell moves out of range. Szlesz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lindell at a distance.
Aras Szlesz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lindell drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Szlesz clobbers Lindell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Szlesz lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Szlesz.
Lindell is rocked! Aras Szlesz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Szlesz is looking to clinch. Aras Szlesz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Szlesz throws a series of punches but Lindell moves out of range. Szlesz tries to close the distance and clinch but Lindell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Szlesz wants to clinch up but Lindell keeps it at a distance. Lindell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Szlesz closes the distance looking to clinch and Lindell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Szlesz!

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Szlesz gets back to half guard. Lindell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Szlesz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Szlesz looking for submissions off his back. Lindell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Szlesz actively working from the bottom here. Szlesz actively working from the bottom here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Szlesz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lindell pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Szlesz yanks on the arm and Lindell is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Szlesz.
