Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Greenwich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Haamelmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damien Greenwich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dirk Haamelmann! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greenwich gets the takedown into side control. Greenwich looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Haamelmann is trying to control Greenwich's posture but Greenwich avoids it. Greenwich decides to stand up, so the ref orders Haamelmann to his feet. Haamelmann will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Haamelmann tries for a takedown but Greenwich circles away easily and Greenwich counters with a head kick. That will keep Haamelmann thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Greenwich scores a takedown into full mount! Haamelmann tries to lock up and control but Greenwich gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Greenwich trying to control but Haamelmann is having none of it. Greenwich thowing shots but they're missing.

Greenwich landing shots from mount. Greenwich is landing with some decent strikes but Haamelmann is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Haamelmann is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Haamelmann is bucking up trying to escape but Greenwich cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Greenwich controlling from mount.

Greenwich lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Haamelmann hang on? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greenwich lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Haamelmann circles away quickly and effectively. Haamelmann shoots and misses and Greenwich counters with a shoot takedown. Haamelmann fights it but they end up in guard. Greenwich throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Greenwich stands up from Haamelmann's guard - Greenwich perhaps looking for a knockout. Damien Greenwich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Greenwich decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Greenwich content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Greenwich tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Haamelmann. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Greenwich is trying to control. Haamelmann wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Haamelmann knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Greenwich is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Haamelmann defends it well. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Greenwich thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Haamelmann tries to close the distance and clinch but Greenwich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Greenwich throws a sloppy head kick and Haamelmann moves out of range easily. Greenwich shoots for a double leg takedown but Haamelmann sprawls well. He's pushed Greenwich's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Greenwich stuffs the takedown. Greenwich shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Haamelmann napping and manages to drive through into side control! Damien Greenwich overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Greenwich tries to move to mount but Haamelmann blocks the move with his legs. Haamelmann seems a little lost for a moment, as Greenwich dominates the positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haamelmann sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Haamelmann has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Greenwich is working away from the top position though. Ground and pound from Greenwich. Greenwich is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Damien Greenwich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dirk Haamelmann. Haamelmann clinches with his opponent.
Greenwich breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Haamelmann looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Greenwich is fending him off so far but Haamelmann persists. Nope, Greenwich circles away and we're back to standing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Haamelmann takes a kick to the side of the head. Haamelmann wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damien Greenwich dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Greenwich fails in his attempt to clinch. Haamelmann has his takedown stuffed and Greenwich counters by clinching up. Greenwich jumps guard but Haamelmann stands there with Greenwich around his waist. Greenwich gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Greenwich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Damien Greenwich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dirk Haamelmann. A head kick misses from Greenwich. Haamelmann gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Greenwich decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Haamelmann's guard. Greenwich avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Haamelmann is working an open guard so Greenwich takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Haamelmann misses with a takedown attempt and Greenwich counters with a takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Haamelmann misses with a strike from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haamelmann wants to control but Greenwich postures up. Greenwich gets to mount! Haamelmann was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Greenwich is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Haamelmann can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Dirk Haamelmann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Damien Greenwich is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Greenwich is adopting a defensive guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Damien Greenwich showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Greenwich, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
