Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Nogueira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Rogers! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Nogueira gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nogueira digs a right hand underneath Rogers's ribcage. Rogers let out a lung full of air as it connected. Nogueira breaks the clinch.
Nogueira shoots in and bounces Rogers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rogers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nogueira not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Nogueira from controlling successfully. Rogers looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nogueira wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving. Rogers trying to keep a closed guard but Nogueira is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rogers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nogueira counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rogers's guard now. Nogueira in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nogueira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nogueira wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving. Rogers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nogueira is aware though and is defending well. Nogueira trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom. Nogueira throws a strike but Rogers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Nogueira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nogueira looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nogueira looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nogueira! Nogueira is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rogers has escaped the position, nice work there. Rogers is looking to reverse the position. Rogers is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nogueira scores with punches from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rogers manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Nogueira trying to mount his opponent but Rogers defends it. Nogueira is breathing heavily. Rogers looking for submissions off his back. Nogueira decides to return to a standing position. Nogueira fails with the takedown. Nogueira takes one to the side of the head.

Lucas Nogueira dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rogers. Lucas Nogueira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nogueira is looking to clinch but Rogers is avoiding it.
Nogueira closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rogers tries to pull guard but Nogueira won't allow it.

Nogueira breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nogueira closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Nogueira ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rogers moves away. Rogers keeps the fight on the outside. Rogers throws a sloppy head kick and Nogueira holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Nice elbow from Nogueira. Nogueira gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Nogueira throws a big right hand that misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rogers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nogueira defends it easily. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Nogueira from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nogueira manages to regain half guard. Good work. Nogueira trying to hold on to Rogers's head to control him but Rogers postures up.

Nogueira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rogers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rogers wants to stand but Nogueira is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rogers wants to control from the top but Nogueira keeps moving. Rogers postures up.

Rogers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nogueira is just riding it out for now. Rogers eventually gives up the hold. Nogueira is not content to let Rogers control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Mike Rogers will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Nogueira postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rogers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nogueira can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nogueira drops back looking for a leg! Rogers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rogers manages to kick Nogueira off! Nogueira jumps back into Rogers's guard.

Nogueira loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nogueira wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rogers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nogueira defends well. Nogueira stands and steps away. Rogers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Lucas Nogueira is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rogers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nogueira misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nogueira tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nogueira is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers fails with a takedown attempt. Lucas Nogueira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Rogers. Nogueira rushes Rogers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nogueira putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Rogers in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Rogers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nogueira walks away with a smile on his face. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rogers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rogers trying to control but Nogueira is working from the bottom. Nogueira wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. Rogers is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lucas Nogueira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lucas Nogueira. I think Nogueira has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
