Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Abo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitrij Markus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Markus has chosen 2Pac,Eazy-E,Notorious BIG-I Live and die for tha funk as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markus closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Abo did well to prevent Markus getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Markus is trying to work for a kimura but Abo is defending well.
Markus is looking to take a break and control but Abo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Abo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Abo tries to get out of the position.

and Abo counters with a shoot takedown. Markus fights it but they end up in guard.

Markus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Abo wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Abo is trying to get back to his feet but Markus has full control of the position and if anything, Abo has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Abo is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Markus gets his way!
Markus is looking for a choke. Abo gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Abo manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Dimitrij Markus has got the better of the ground game so far.
Markus is pressing down on Abo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Abo is holding on for now.

Markus is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Abo frees his head nicely. Oh but Markus has switched to an armbar! Abo is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
