The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Midura tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Midura lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Midura throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jones on the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Midura throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jones stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jones throws the left hand but Midura avoids the punch easily.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Midura was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Midura throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Midura throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.

Midura is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jones had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Midura cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Jones is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
