Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aviram Gilad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Slater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aviram Gilad! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slater throws a right and a left that Gilad avoids nicely. Slater fails to land with a series of punches.
Slater throws a nice looking combination but Gilad bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Slater tries to keep at a distance but Gilad has taken the fight into the clinch. Slater working hard to break the clinch. Slater is trying to break free. Slater has had enough of the clinch but Gilad keeps him there for the moment. Gilad gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gilad seems to be working for a kimura but Slater defends the submission attempt. Slater avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gilad. Slater is looking to escape. Slater on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Slater is trying to stand.
Gilad has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gilad is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slater is refusing to be controlled, as Gilad sits in half guard. Gilad is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Slater has managed to free his arm - good work. Gilad passes to full mount! Slater trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gilad working for a guillotine from mount but Slater is in no mood to give up. Slater wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gilad scoring with strikes but Slater is staying in there. Slater is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Slater trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Gilad putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Slater has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slater is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Slater is breathing heavily. Slater staying busy and making it hard for Gilad to control. Slater fending off the submission attempt from Gilad. Slater is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it. Slater throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gilad misses with an uppercut. Gilad shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slater but Slater pushes him off and we're back to square one. Slater will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Slater throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gilad. Gilad cracks a nice hook into Slater's ribs. Slater misses with a few strikes there.

Gilad moves into the clinch. Gilad has Slater pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gilad pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Slater tumbling to the mat - Gilad dives into Slater's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aviram Gilad dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gilad looks to score with a jab to the body but Slater is just out of range. Slater misses with a wild combination.
Slater throws a right and a left that both miss. Slater looks to land a combination but Gilad avoids it well. Slater looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gilad is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Slater's half guard. Gilad is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Slater is just riding it out for now. Gilad eventually gives up the hold. Gilad is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Slater doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gilad. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slater tries to kick Gilad off but Gilad keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Gilad fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Slater sprawls well initially but Gilad persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gilad working Slater over with strikes. Slater is trying to stand up here but Gilad is controlling him well. Gilad is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slater is trying to stand. Slater tries to buck Gilad off but Gilad takes his back! Slater controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Gilad scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Slater is looking for a way out. Slater is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Slater is trying to stand back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aviram Gilad showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Crunch! Gilad slams his shin into Slater's torso. Slater misses with a wild combination.
Gilad misses the jab. Gilad scores with a takedown into Slater's guard. Gilad is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Slater keeping full guard, as Gilad tries to pass. Gilad takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gilad stops Slater from standing up. Gilad is standing up over Slater. Slater looks to escape but Gilad dives into side control.
Gilad working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Slater is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Slater lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

John Slater is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gilad showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Slater.
Slater throws a series of punches but Gilad moves out of range. Slater tries to bum rush Gilad with a series of wild strikes but Gilad uses good footwork to avoid the assault. John Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slater keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Slater slaps away a takedown attempt from Gilad, before circling back to the center of the mat. Slater throws a right and a left that Gilad avoids nicely. Slater rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gilad moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Slater swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gilad bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gilad prevents Slater from escaping the position. Gilad working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Slater wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! John Slater has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Slater wants to get back to his feet but Gilad is dominant here and he's now got Slater's back! Aviram Gilad has got the better of the ground game so far. Slater is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slater is covering up but some of the strikes from Gilad are getting through and doing damage.

And that's the end of the fight! Aviram Gilad comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gilad winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
