Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evron Haim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Johnson! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Haim fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Haim decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haim has gone for a leg lock! Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Haim's guard. Johnson wants to get up but he can't break Haim's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Haim looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.

Haim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson wants to stand but Haim is controlling his posture from full guard. Haim is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson gets to his feet - Haim follows without any prompting. Johnson throws a combination that misses and Haim counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Johnson wants to get back to his feet.

Johnson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Johnson looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haim takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Haim is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Johnson has managed to free his arm - good work. Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Haim sits in half guard. Haim is trying to work for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.

Evron Haim dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Johnson throws a right and a left that Haim avoids nicely. Johnson misses with a combination
enabling Haim to counter with a crisp jab. Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Haim moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Haim counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard. Haim wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Haim missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haim drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Haim off! Haim jumps back into Johnson's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson wants to stand and escape but Haim is having none of it. Johnson is breathing heavily. Haim is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Haim throws and elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Haim's guard. Nice move by Johnson! Johnson wants to get up but he can't break Haim's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Haim, up you get! A punch combination from Johnson misses. Haim lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Haim. Johnson misses with a two punch combination.

and Haim connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nice shot lands for Haim. Haim bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Haim landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Haim is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haim passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Johnson! Haim is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Johnson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Johnson shrugs it off. Haim wants to finish this one by submission but Johnson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Haim. Johnson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haim has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
You get the feeling that Johnson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Evron Haim dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Johnson wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Haim wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. Haim is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Haim eventually gives up the hold. Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Haim sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haim missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Johnson tries to kick Haim off in order to stand up. Haim Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Haim is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. Haim tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson tries to escape but Haim is in control. Haim has an Americana. Johnson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Haim is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Haim hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
