3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladamir Petrov! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! desperado wants to clinch. desperado tries to clinch up. Petrov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. desperado prevents the takedown attempt.

Petrov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. desperado is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Petrov drops down looking for an ankle pick but desperado pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tito desperado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladamir Petrov. desperado lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Petrov circles away quickly and effectively. Tito desperado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petrov scores with an uppercut up the middle. Petrov turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Petrov lands a few punches from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Petrov grinds an elbow into desperado's temple. Petrov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. desperado knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petrov throws a strike aimed at the side of desperado's head but desperado avoids it well. Petrov goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, desperado has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Petrov but great work by desperado. Petrov tries to get back to half guard but can't. desperado wants to stand but Petrov is controlling his arm. Petrov can't do much from the bottom here. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. desperado pushes Petrov off looking to stand but Petrov dives back in and keeps control.

Vladamir Petrov dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Petrov forces desperado back against the cage and clinches. Petrov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Petrov manages to end up in side control. He catches desperado napping and manages to drive through into side control! Petrov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Petrov wants to control for a moment but desperado uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Petrov missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. desperado has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Petrov is working away from the top position though. Petrov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but desperado sees it coming and defends easily. Petrov wants to pass the guard but desperado is defending well. desperado is looking for a sweep. Petrov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Petrov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Petrov closes this distance looking for a takedown but desperado circles away. desperado tries to clinch but fails miserably and Petrov counters with a nice double leg into side control. desperado won't be happy with that. desperado sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. desperado is defending against the submission attempts here by Petrov.

Petrov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but desperado does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Petrov wants to lay and pray for a moment but desperado keeps working. Petrov sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. desperado defending well though. Petrov wants to control but desperado is keeping him busy. desperado actively working from the bottom here. Petrov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. Petrov wants to lay and pray for a moment but desperado keeps working. Tito desperado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
