Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlson comes to the cage accompanied by My Block - Scarface. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Carlson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Pinto! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pinto as he avoids it easily. Pinto misses with a takedown and Carlson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pinto's guard now. Carlson wants to control from the top but Pinto keeps moving. Carlson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carlson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pinto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pinto looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Carlson wants to control from the top but Pinto keeps moving. Pinto has control of Carlson's left arm, preventing Carlson from doing any damage. Carlson postures up in Pinto's guard and throws a big left but Pinto blocks it. Carlson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pinto working a defensive guard here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carlson tries for a takedown but Pinto circles away easily and Pinto counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carlson desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson wants to control but Pinto is keeping busy.
Pinto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Carlson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pinto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carlson's head. Ground and pound from Pinto. Pinto not landing any meaningful shots this time. Pinto sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carlson defending well though. Pinto misses with a head shot. Carlson uses the momentum to regain guard. Carlson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Pinto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carlson was covering up waiting for the punch and Pinto finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Carlson working for a triangle but Pinto defends it easily.
Carlson is breathing heavily. Pinto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Pinto throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pinto tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlson is retaining full guard. Pinto throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carlson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pinto looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Pinto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carlson is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pinto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pinto missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Carlson tries to roll over but Pinto keeps him under control. Carlson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pinto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pinto trying to mount his opponent but Carlson defends it. Pinto seems to be working for a kimura but Carlson defends the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlson gets back to full guard.
Carlson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pinto is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carlson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carlson has escaped and now he's on top! Pinto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carlson is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carlson's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jose Pinto will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pinto looks to score with a jab to the body but Carlson is just out of range. Pinto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carlson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Carlson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pinto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Carlson is looking to improve his position.
Pinto throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Carlson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pinto. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carlson has one foot on Pinto's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Carlson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Pinto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Carlson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carlson wants to control but Pinto passes easily into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinto is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Carlson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
