Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Paine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and de fool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sterling Paine has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sterling Paine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, de fool! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paine clinches with his opponent.
Paine decides to pull guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as fool accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. fool throws a big right hand that misses. fool throwing strikes but missing. fool loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. fool keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Paine's head. Paine preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Paine tries to strike from the bottom.
Paine has his foot on fool's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. fool works his way back into a safe position though. fool tries to free his leg and advance position but Paine is retaining full guard. fool loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. fool in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Paine keeping full guard, as fool tries to pass. fool throwing strikes from guard but Paine blocks nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. fool shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paine's guard. fool is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. fool missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Paine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. fool throws a big right hand that misses. Paine looking to hit a scissor sweep but fool is one step ahead there. fool lands a couple of elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. fool is looking to work some ground and pound but Paine has wrist control. fool working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paine throws a low kick, looking for fool's leg but fool calmly moves out of range. Paine doesn't manage to clinch there - fool circles away.
Paine misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Paine clinches up with fool and pushes him back against the cage. Paine stops a takedown attempt from fool.
fool wants a takedown but no success here.
Paine gets control of fool's arms and successfully pulls guard. Paine will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as fool accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. fool landing some decent shots from guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Paine holds on and takes a little breather.

Paine wants to hit a switch here but fool passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Paine there! Paine is in a horrible position here. fool smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. fool lands a big elbow. Paine is wriggling around trying to escape.
fool landing strikes from the mount. This has been an exciting period of action! fool lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
fool has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Paine's face.
fool with shots to the head and body - Paine looks very uncomfortable down there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paine is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. fool cracks Paine with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Paine is breathing heavily. A nice elbow there by fool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

fool shoots in for a double leg but Paine sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Paine will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Paine throws out a loose jab but fool uses good head movement to avoid it. fool shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paine pinned against the cage. Paine gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Paine misses the shot to the body. Paine decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Paine landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. fool has hold of Paine's hands but Paine slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paine connects with a nice short shot to fool's temple. Paine trying to control the action but fool is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paine sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. fool defending well though. Paine lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. fool regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Paine. Paine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. fool swivels though and keeps the full guard. Paine trying to control the position from guard on top but fool is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Paine shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Paine was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! fool wants to try and get back to his feet. fool is trying desperately to improve position. BOOM! Paine connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Paine lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Paine with good strikes from the mount here! fool slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. fool pushes Paine off looking to stand but Paine dives back in and keeps control.

Paine is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and fool reverses the position - he's now on top in Paine's guard. fool throwing strikes from guard but Paine blocks nicely. Paine avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. fool is fighting to break Paine's control of his arms but Paine is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. fool throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. de fool has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Paine controlling the position. fool throws a big right hand that misses. Paine might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. fool working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paine is on top in guard.

Paine is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. fool will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Sterling Paine dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Paine moves into range and connects with a jab. fool tries for a takedown but Paine circles away easily and Paine holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. fool has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Paine is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. fool changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Paine fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sterling Paine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of de fool. Paine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sterling Paine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Paine scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Paine cracks fool with a big right hand but fool just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Paine creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. fool takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. fool is not content to let Paine control the position. Paine working the head with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paine working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Paine cracks fool with a big elbow. Paine throws a strike aimed at the side of fool's head but fool avoids it well. Paine tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Paine working the head and body with strikes. Paine working the ground and pound. Paine scoring with punches from side control. Paine tries to score with some ground and pound. fool controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Paine stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but fool manages to avoid it. Paine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Paine throwing strikes from guard but fool blocks nicely. Paine throws a strike but fool rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. fool working some strikes from top position. fool postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. fool postures up in Paine's guard and throws a big left but Paine blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. fool is working Paine over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Paine is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. fool is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as fool accidentally thumps the mat. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Paine is trying to maintain the position but fool is very close to passing his half guard. fool throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paine keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Paine trying to hold on to fool's head to control him but fool postures up.
Nice strikes from fool there. fool slips a nice elbow through Paine's hands, connecting with Paine's forehead. Paine avoiding damage under a succession of punches from fool. fool wants to free his trapped foot but Paine is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Paine lands a really nice looking cross but fool seems unphased.
Paine feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to fool's calf.
And that's the end of the fight! Sterling Paine showed his dominance in that final round. I think Paine has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
