Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, keith steele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Mantegna!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
steele lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mantegna at a distance.
steele thows a left - swing and a miss!
steele's corner calls for a 1-2. steele obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mantegna throws a right and a left that both miss.
steele misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from steele.
Mantegna lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Mantegna ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mantegna throws a body punch but steele moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Mantegna.
Mantegna goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like keith steele has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mantegna misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
steele bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

steele gets the takedown into side control.

steele is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mantegna knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

steele is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mantegna has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mantegna struggling a bit here.
Mantegna is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mantegna is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Sloppy strikes there by steele.

steele thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

steele is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mantegna knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

steele tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mantegna tries to bench press steele off him but steele keeps the position.
Mantegna sneaks back into half guard.
steele passes to side control.

steele working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mantegna is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked steele off and has taken his back!
Mantegna throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Mantegna lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
steele has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Mantegna.
Mantegna thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
steele is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Will Mantegna go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mantegna missing with strikes from the back.
Mantegna throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Mantegna trying to control momentarily.
steele controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mantegna throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Mantegna throwing sloppy strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Mantegna dominated that round.

Mantegna scores with a jab to the body.
Mantegna throws a series of punches but steele avoids them all with ease.
Mantegna fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but steele is out of range.
Mantegna throws a combination. steele tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Mantegna drops steele with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but steele looks back up at him and smiles so Mantegna waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mantegna connects with a body shot.
Mantegna fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked steele out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Tony Mantegna!
