The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olvo dives in and grabs Yates's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yates pushes down on Olvo's head and hops out.
Yates throws a low kick but Olvo avoids it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yates is looking for a triangle but Olvo pushes his legs off easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Olvo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yates has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Olvo has managed to get both his arms back between Yates's legs - danger averted.
