Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robert Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monk Gorfne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nolan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ice Cream Paint Job-Lil Wayne. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Nolan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Monk Gorfne! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gorfne doesn't manage to clinch there - Nolan circles away.
Monk Gorfne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nolan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nolan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gorfne avoids it really well and circles away. Nolan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Gorfne is trying to control Nolan's posture but Nolan avoids it. Nolan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nolan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gorfne to see if he's OK. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gorfne can do anything to dispel that myth. Nolan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gorfne down.
Nolan creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Gorfne manages to get back to half guard. Gorfne is looking for a sweep. Nolan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gorfne tries to bum rush Nolan with a series of wild strikes but Nolan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nolan takes a swing at Gorfne's ribcage but misses. Nolan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Gorfne misses with a series of wild punches.

Gorfne is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Gorfne tries to break the clinch but Nolan is controlling the position. Gorfne looks gassed! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nolan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gorfne off and has taken his back! Nolan has the hooks in. Gorfne is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Nolan.

Nolan gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Nolan gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Nolan apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Gorfne lands with a cross. Gorfne thuds a left hand into Nolan's body. Gorfne keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nolan. Gorfne tries to clinch there but Nolan circles away.

Nolan throws a punch but it's blocked by Gorfne. Nolan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gorfne pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Nolan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gorfne is trying to defend but Nolan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Nolan slips a nice elbow through Gorfne's hands, connecting with Gorfne's forehead. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gorfne's guard. Nolan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Nolan is working Gorfne over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Nolan chips away with some ground and pound. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nolan stands up over Gorfne, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Gorfne controls Nolan momentarily but Nolan frees himself. Nolan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Nolan seems to have locked his on tight now - Gorfne screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Nolan, as he picks up the win!
