Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Travis Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes to the cage accompanied by Delirium Trigger. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Turner!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Burns is able to avoid easily.
Jason Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turner.
Burns dodges the punch combination from Turner.
Turner attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Turner throws a looping overhand right but Burns ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner misses with a kick to the body.
Burns ducks under a wild hook from Turner.
Turner throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burns moves in looking to clinch but Turner pushes him off.
Burns keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Turner.
Burns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turner tries to avoid it but Burns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turner to the ground. Turner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burns.
Turner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burns ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Burns showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Turner.
Turner throws out a loose jab but Burns uses good head movement to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Turner misses the target.
Turner misses with a low kick.

Burns avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Burns shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Turner is trying to defend but Burns finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Burns is working for a submission of some sort.
Turner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burns is working away from the top position though.

Burns is working for a kimura but Turner is defending it quite comfortably.

Burns is looking to advance position but Turner won't allow it.
Turner is positioning himself well to prevent Burns advancing to mount.
Turner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Turner moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Travis Burns will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Burns displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Turner throws out the jab.
Turner misses with a low kick.
Burns wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns moves in looking to clinch but Turner pushes him off.

Turner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burns.
Turner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Burns fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Turner keeps the fight on the outside.
Turner cracks Burns with an open hand slap.
Turner shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Burns shoots in and drives through. Turner sprawls well.
Turner misses with a looping right.
Burns stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Turner.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burns avoids a kick to the body.
Turner misses with a straight left.
Burns checks a leg kick.
Turner misses with a two punch combination.
Turner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jason Turner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Turner is looking to land body kicks.
Turner tries a low kick but Burns avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Burns slips a straight right by Turner.
Burns wants to clinch up but Turner keeps it at a distance.
Turner misses with a jab, cross combination.
Turner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Turner sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Turner pivots, looking for a leg kick but Burns is out of range and Turner settles back down.
Turner throws a leg kick but Burns sees it coming and moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Turner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Burns is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Turner tests Burns's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Burns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Burns tries to free his leg and advance position but Turner is retaining full guard.
Burns is working hard here to advance position.
Turner trying to control the position here.

Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Turner is trying to control the position but Burns postures up.
Burns tries to free his leg and advance position but Turner is retaining full guard.
Turner pulls Burns in close to prevent any damage.
Burnsis looking to pass into half guard but Turner pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Turner is in guard.
Burns wants to sweep but no luck.
Burns manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Burns quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Burns but it's paid off an Turner is forced to tap! Nice work by Burns.
