Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Uichico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Batina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batina has chosen Venemous as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior Batina! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uichico shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Uichico tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Batina looking for submissions off his back. Batina wants to get back to full guard. Uichico postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Batina to stand up. Uichico drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Uichico wanted to stand there but Batina had control of the position. Uichico is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uichico seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Batina for as long as he can get away with. Uichico wants to stand and escape but instead Batina has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Uichico has his feet on Batina's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Batina prevents Uichico from getting back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Batina accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Batina shoots and misses so Uichico counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Uichico wants to stand but Batina is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Uichico stands and steps away. Batina gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Uichico closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Batina to the mat! Batina manages to get full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's better than Uichico was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Uichico gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Uichico scores a takedown into full mount! Uichico prevents Batina from getting the reversal. Uichico controlling the position easily from mount. Batina is looking to get to half guard. Uichico content just to control the position here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Batina fails with the takedown and Uichico counters with a shoot takedown. Batina fights it but they end up in guard. Batina is working an open guard so Uichico takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Uichico scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Batina wants to control but Uichico is keeping busy.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
