Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diago Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario Rua will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diago Lester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Rua! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Lester circles away.
Rua throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Lester closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rua circles away. Lester shoots in but no luck this time. Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Rua keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diago Lester. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rua fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lester, pushing him back against the cage. Lester takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Diago Lester has been cut. Rua scores a nice knee to the body.

Lester is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Rua lands a knee to the body.
Lester takes an elbow to the forehead. Lester has Rua pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rua manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rua with a knee to the head.
Rua scores a nice knee to the body.
Rua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mario Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lester drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rua is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rua sneaks back into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua trying to hold on to Lester's head to control him but Lester postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lester wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rua keeps working. Lester tries to pass to full mount but Rua defends it. Lester is working for a kimura but Rua is defending it quite comfortably.
Rua wants to control but Lester is keeping busy and won't allow it. Rua tries to roll over but Lester keeps him under control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Lester looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lester is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Lester can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rua is looking to escape. Rua regains half guard. Rua slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rua tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rua keeping moving, preventing Lester from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lester throws a big right hand that misses. Lester stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rua swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rua not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lester shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lester tries to control but Rua wriggling away. Lester has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rua's face.
Lester content just to control the position here. Lester working for a guillotine from mount but Rua is in no mood to give up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lester wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Lester stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Lester fails with the takedown. Lester feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lester is pushing down on Rua's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rua is fighting to maintain full guard but Lester has managed to sneak the leg through. Lester is working for a kimura but Rua is defending it quite comfortably.
Rua keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mario Rua dominated that round. The cut man is working on Diago Lester's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Rua! Lester is out on his feet! Rua rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Lester is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Lester is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mario Rua!
