Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Nasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hotel California (Spanish) - Gypsie Kings. Big Nasty could well score a knockout today. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Big Nasty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesus Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sanchez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! The fight moves into the clinch position. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nasty takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Sanchez gets underhooks to prevent Nasty's takedown attempt.
Sanchez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Nasty missing with knees to the body.
Sanchez is looking to control Nasty's arms but Nasty gets an underhook and turns him. Now Sanchez has his back to the cage. Nasty escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nasty closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nasty wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is defending well. Sanchez wants to control but Nasty is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nasty seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nasty content to control rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nasty is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Sanchez tries to improve his position but instead Nasty has taken his back! Nasty just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Nasty seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sanchez for as long as he can get away with. Nasty misses with a punch to the head. Sanchez is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez covering up well under a barage of strikes. Nasty has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sanchez's body.
Sanchez avoids the strikes from Nasty. Nasty has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Sanchez! Can he survive? No! He's out! Nasty gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Big Nasty!
